From the moment we arrived on that cool November night I knew we were in for an investigation like none other. The gates that blocked the property had spike facing outward to keep vehicles from ramming it open. As we passed through the gates I noted the barb wire along the top of the high fencing. It felt as though I was entering a prison work farm.

Robert Sherman, Founder of the Sapulpa Paranormal Investigations (and) Extreme Studies AKA; S.P.I.E.S. explained that this area was the S.P.I.E.S. ongoing research sight because it was so alive with Paranormal Activity.

I took several photos of the outside of the property, which later revealed that we had been greeted with the unexplained immediately upon our arrival.

We took an initial tour of the interior of the building with Robert explaining to our S.K.I.P.S. team the results of past investigations and their findings. He gave us the sinister history of the place and it was soon easy to see why this was a hot spot of activity.

The old water treatment plant had been built on the site of an old farm that occupied a bend in the river. There had been many accidents, some fatal on that farm. The land had belonged to a person of questionable moral values before passing into the hands of the city of Sapulpa, Oklahoma. The plant had been built in the 1930’s and had served the city for 50 years until a new treatment plant had been built and this one abandoned.

Sometime in the 1960’s a demented worker had held a young girl captive in the plant. Keeping her secreted at the bottom of an elevator shaft and sexually abusing her whenever the urge hit him. When he thought he might be caught he drowned her in one of the treatment tanks and buried her body on the property where it was eventually uncovered. Her captor committed suicide in the plant by hanging himself in the elevator shaft in which he had kept her captive.

Another time a worker fell into one of the large holding tanks and drowned before help could arrive. The building holds a thick air of these past tragic events.

During the investigation Robert, who is also a Demonologist, made contact with the Spirit of the abused girl whose name was Mary. He also made contact with the Spirit of a Quaker Sharecropper by the name of Josiah who was confused as to why he could not find the farmers who owned the land so that he could harvest and get paid.

Our research turned up a Josiah H. Crawford who was born in Estill County Kentucky in 1838 and died in Paul’s Valley, Oklahoma in 1908. Farming is the major economy in both locations as well as Sapulpa. It is possible that Josiah Crawford was the Quaker Sharecropper that Robert made contact with that night.

We set video cameras and digital voice recorders at strategic locations throughout the building. We were rewarded, upon later review, with several good EVP’s also known as Electronic Voice Phenomenon and unexplainable occurrences and objects appearing on our videos. One camera was turned off by an unseen had a little over 20 minutes into the recording.

The highlight of the night came when the entire team heard a woman’s cry for help coming from an empty room.

We took quite a few photo’s and debunked a few things during the review. All in all it was a successful investigation which left us with more questions than answers and a desire to again visit this intriguing and mysterious location.
